Attitude Determines Altitude

How we handle and react to the things that come up in our lives plays a huge role on how far we make it. God only sends overflow and increase when He knows He can trust us. He knows He can trust us when we insert Him into our situations and circumstances IMMEDIATELY. I was reminded this week my attitude will determine my altitude. It can either push me forward or set me back. The choice is mine to make.

Are You Operating In The Fruits?

I definitely hit quite a few emotional roadblocks this week. I found myself asking the Lord over and over again to search my heart and help me gain understanding on why I was feeling the emotions I felt. Each time, I sought after Him, he presented me with the same question, "Are you operating out of My Fruits of The Spirit or your own standards of emotion? "The Fruits of The Spirit include, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When I turned my attention to these things, I was able to realize I wasn't in fact operating out of these fruits, let alone focused on them because I was so caught up in how I felt in the moment of things.

I ended up sharing with God how frustrating and hard it is to stop and self reflect every moment I feel my flesh rising. He showed me through many examples that like anything else, it is only hard because I do not diligently practice. You have to renew your thinking and train your mind to meditate on the things of God when things don't happen in your favor. I kind of received the lesson, but if I'm being reflective and honest, I lowkey shrugged it off and kept moving throughout my week.

Don't Stunt YOUR Growth!

Fast forward a couple of days and I'm presented with a situation where let's just say I was not as reflective on the Fruits of the Spirit as I should have been AGAIN! SMH! I resorted back to pleasing my emotions in the moment as oppose to pleasing God. This time, God had to get the message to me a little louder. I was in the shower after the situation, dealing with God's conviction, and God simply told me, "your disobedience to yield our attitude to me, is stunting your growth." He said that, "your desire is for me to expand your territory and reach, but you aren't even trying to stop resisting so how can I stretch you?" He gave me the vision of a plant in the ground that picks and chooses the days they want to invite the sun and rain in. If you don't allow them both to come when necessary, the plant will never reach it's full potential.

After the vision, I received the title of this blog, your attitude determines your altitude. How you train yourself to feel and react towards things determines how far you will go and how much God can use you.

Application

Your set back may not be your attitude. Maybe you battle and struggle with other things, whatever it is... Anything that separates you further from God will have an effect if left unaddressed. I hope that through this blog you realize that you can trust God in any and everything you struggle with. It's also important that you do the work to meet Him wherever He is. The Bible even tells us that, "Faith without work is dead." Don't allow a little work to cost you a lot of blessings and a lot of overflow!

Prayer

Dear God, we want to take a moment to give your name honor and glory! We thank you for loving us enough to speak to us when we seek after you. God I thank you for reminding us that our attitude determines our altitude. We thank you God because we know you are with us even in times where we don't operate out of your spirit. We ask that you would write The Fruits of The Spirit across our hearts, so that we never forget them. Continue to search our hearts and guide us on becoming more and more like you each day! Lord I ask that you bless Hidden Treasures and that you guide and cover us on our journey as we continue to Heal, Evolve, and Rise together! AMEN!
